Introduction

Welcome to CharacterLock AI. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CharacterLock AI website and related services at https://characterlock.ai (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

Service Description

CharacterLock AI is a reference-based AI image tool for creating consistent character visuals. The Service lets you upload or provide a character reference, describe a target scene, and generate a single AI image designed to preserve recognizable identity anchors such as face, hairstyle, outfit, silhouette, body proportions, and color palette.

The Service is intended for creative workflows such as anime, Webtoon, game concepts, story illustrations, teaching characters, brand mascots, and storyboard visuals.

Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum legal age required in your jurisdiction, to use the Service.

Some features may require an account. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity that occurs under your account. You may not create multiple accounts to bypass usage limits, credits, safety checks, or abuse controls.

Permitted Use

You may use the Service to:

• Generate character images from references you own or are authorized to use.
• Create visuals for personal, educational, commercial, or professional projects, subject to these Terms and applicable law.
• Download, edit, and reuse generated outputs where you have the rights needed for the input materials.
• Evaluate character consistency across scenes, poses, styles, and visual formats.

Prohibited Use

You may not use the Service to:

• Upload images or prompts that you do not have rights or permission to use.
• Infringe copyrights, trademarks, publicity rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any person or organization.
• Generate illegal, abusive, harassing, defamatory, deceptive, hateful, sexually exploitative, or otherwise harmful content.
• Impersonate real people or misrepresent generated content in a misleading way.
• Attempt to bypass rate limits, credits, authentication, security controls, or content safeguards.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, resell, or overload the Service without written permission.

User Content and Uploaded Images

"User Content" includes prompts, uploaded reference images, generated outputs, metadata, feedback, and other materials you submit or create through the Service.

You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you represent that you have all rights, licenses, consents, and permissions needed to use it with the Service.

You grant CharacterLock AI a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, process, transmit, reproduce, and display User Content only as needed to provide, secure, debug, improve, and maintain the Service. This license ends when the relevant User Content is deleted from our systems, except where retention is required for legal, security, fraud prevention, backup, or dispute purposes.

Do not upload private, sensitive, confidential, or regulated information unless you have the legal right to do so and accept the processing required to provide the Service.

AI-Generated Outputs

Generated outputs may be imperfect, inconsistent, or unexpected. CharacterLock AI does not guarantee that any output will preserve identity perfectly, be suitable for a particular use, or be free from errors.

You are responsible for reviewing generated outputs before publishing or using them commercially. You are also responsible for ensuring that your use of generated outputs complies with applicable laws, platform rules, and third-party rights.

We do not claim ownership of your generated outputs, but we retain all rights in the Service, software, interface, systems, prompts, workflows, models integrations, branding, and infrastructure.

Third-Party AI, Storage, Analytics, and Payment Providers

To operate the Service, we may use third-party providers for AI generation, cloud hosting, image storage, authentication, analytics, error monitoring, payments, and email delivery.

Your prompts, uploaded images, generated images, technical metadata, account data, or payment metadata may be processed by those providers only as needed to provide the Service. We do not store full payment card details on our servers.

Third-party provider availability, latency, output quality, moderation behavior, and outages may affect the Service.

Credits, Paid Features, and Billing

The Service may offer free usage, credits, paid credit packs, subscriptions, or other paid features. If paid features are available, prices, credit costs, renewal terms, expiration rules, and cancellation details will be shown in the product UI or checkout flow before purchase.

Credits are a limited license to access Service features. Credits are not cash, stored value, or transferable property. Credits may expire according to the terms shown at purchase or in the product UI.

Purchases for digital AI services are generally non-refundable once credits are delivered or generation access is used, except where required by law or where we choose to issue a refund for issues such as duplicate charges, unauthorized transactions, or technical errors.

Service Availability

We try to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, specific output quality, or permanent availability of any feature.

We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time, including for maintenance, security, provider changes, legal compliance, or abuse prevention.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, and protect information. By using the Service, you also agree to our Privacy Policy.

Intellectual Property

The CharacterLock AI website, logo, interface, product design, workflows, documentation, code, and related technology are owned by CharacterLock AI or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works from the Service itself unless we give written permission.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, create legal risk, abuse the Service, attempt unauthorized access, or otherwise harm users, providers, or our systems.

You may stop using the Service at any time. Certain provisions, including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute terms, survive termination.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, and accuracy.

AI outputs are generated automatically and may not reflect our views. You use the Service and outputs at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CharacterLock AI and its operators, affiliates, providers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data loss, business interruption, reputational harm, or costs arising from your use of the Service.

Our aggregate liability for claims related to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to CharacterLock AI for the Service in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD $100 if you paid nothing.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
